Museum of Ambient Sound is a concept for a museum and observatory that highlights sound and listening. It is a tour through the world of the auditory process, historical as well as timeless. Halls of the museum fulfil the informative aspect of the area, vocalizing what ambient sound is and its historical significance in society and art. Halls of the museum lead you to large listening areas; Soundproofed auditoriums that highlight an amalgam of live, environmental sounds; a wood stove, an aviary, turtles. The contents rotating monthly. Located in the armpit of downtown LAs “noisy district”, the Museum of Ambient Sound is open from 6pm, when all the factories close and all the cars stop honking, to 3am; bedtime. |
